Classy 97 Family Feud: She Can’t Get Him To Take A Vacation

From January 29, 2020

Dear Liza,
My husband and I have been married for 25 years. Our kids are grown and out of the house and I am excited to do some traveling. I have been saving “laundry money” since we got married. Anything that comes out of the washer and dryer is mine. It hasn’t been a secret. Everyone knows if you leave it in your pockets, mom is going to keep it. I’m managed to save $4,352 over the last 15 years. I told my husband it’s time to spend that laundered money and suggested we book a trip to Europe. We’ll tour 4 different countries, eat, drink and be merry. My husband says we should use that money to buy a camper instead. A camper! His thought is we can have “endless vacations” with a camper instead of just one 2 week European excursion. I saved all this money by being very practical and I’d like to spend it on something not so practical. What do you think we should do?
