Classy 97 Family Feud: Who Should Host Thanksgiving

From November 20, 2019

Dear Liza,
Our family rotates from house to house during the holidays. This year it’s my brother’s turn to host Thanksgiving. He got married this summer and we really, really like his new wife. However, we don’t like her cooking, decorating or hosting skills. She had a pretty poor upbringing and tends to do things “on the cheap side.” We’re afraid she’s going to serve processed turkey on paper plates and ask everyone to bring a side dish. We’ve all been talking about it and we think I should offer to host Thanksgiving “so it isn’t too much work for her.” That way we’ll all get to have the wonderful Thanksgiving dinner my extended family deserves. I think it’s the nicest way to handle this. Do you agree?
